Kia ora from Paul

My clients value the depth and breadth of my experience and expertise – they like the fact they’re getting a blend of lived experience, pragmatism and creative solutions.

I believe that effective communication and change management is, at its core, a problem-solving process, and ultimately that's what our clients need from us. Be it communication or change management, the principles remain the same. Focus on and understand the people who the deliverables will touch, and then, and only then, may you actually move forward.

My considerable change-management and stakeholder-engagement toolbox has been forged in the fires of Fortune 500 corporates and across New Zealand’s public-sector, NGO governance and Parliament. My expertise and passion is in communicating and engaging people around ideas or programmes that are often complex or controversial, or just simply hard to communicate, due to their technical or legislative nature.  What I’m really good at is pathfinding a way through the complexity and noise and finding solutions that work for you, and can be communicated in a way that is authentic, easier to understand and typically less risky.

A sixth-generation Kiwi, I’m on a mission to invest my three decades of change-engineering expertise into ethics-driven organisations, projects that make a difference and ventures that want to transition,

My  background is in banking and finance, and includes management experience with BNZ and Westpac, in banking operations management, customer strategy, IT, strategy and communications, HR and organisational change management.

Outside of work, I involve myself in social advocacy and am a government appointed Independent Marriage Celebrant.
